Brian Keate owner and operator of La Habra Cyclery (est. 1999) opened Long Beach Cyclery in 2011 to fulfill the need of a high-end service oriented bike shop in the greater Long Beach area. Brian is a 9-time state champion, avid road and mountain biker and shares his 28 years of bike knowledge to his customer base in both shops.

Keate, affectionately known as Turtle or Tortuga amongst biking circles, has called Long Beach his home for many years now and is happy to have seen the city evolve into one of the most progressively focused bike cities in the nation. As Keate explains, he loves the aspects of the bicycle business because it represents adventure at all levels: young children learning how to first ride a bike, young adults escaping the confines of their cars to discover the pleasure of a simple ride through town, people searching for new forms of transportation and sports-minded enthusiasts.

Gian Simonetti, renowned bike man from Medici and Simio Cycles in the 80s and 90’s joined Brian to help out with services and repairs. His many years of experience building bikes are a true asset to Long Beach Cyclery and the cycling community.

And of course Long Beach Cyclery’s number one employee (Willie) is always eager to greet customers and keep them happy while in the store.

Be assured that everyone at Long Beach Cyclery is committed to providing the best customer service possible. With brands such as Cannondale, Raleigh, Scott, and KHS, Long Beach Cyclery will have a bicycle to fit all cycling needs. Whether purchasing a new bicycle, looking to get a current bicycle serviced, or just need some questions answered, their knowledgeable staff is capable and ready to help.
